Completing Your Profile and Onboarding

After creating your Wistudi account, you may be asked to complete your profile and introductory onboarding steps.

Onboarding helps personalise your experience, prepares your account for learning and content creation, and introduces the main areas of the platform.

The exact steps may vary depending on how you joined Wistudi and which features are currently available.

What Is Onboarding?

Onboarding is the initial setup process completed after registration.

It may include:

  • Confirming your personal details
  • Adding a profile image
  • Choosing your role
  • Selecting interests or learning categories
  • Reviewing Learner Space and Creator Space
  • Completing introductory platform steps
  • Connecting external accounts when available

Some onboarding steps may be required before you can access shared content or enter the full platform.

Opening Your Profile

You can normally access your profile from the profile menu in the main navigation.

To open your profile:

  1. Sign in to Wistudi.
  2. Select your profile image or account icon.
  3. Open Profile, Edit Profile, or Account Settings.
  4. Update the available information.
  5. Save your changes.

The exact labels may vary depending on the current Wistudi release.

Adding Your Name

Enter the name you want other users to see across Wistudi.

Your display name may appear in:

  • Learning experiences
  • Learner reports
  • Activity submissions
  • Discussions
  • Assignments
  • Creator profiles
  • Shared content
  • Live sessions

Use a name that instructors, learners, and team members can recognise.

If you are using Wistudi through a school or organisation, follow any naming rules provided by the administrator.

Adding a Profile Image

A profile image helps other users identify you.

To add one:

  1. Open your profile.
  2. Select the profile image area.
  3. Upload an image from your device.
  4. Adjust or crop the image when available.
  5. Save your changes.

For the best results, use:

  • A clear square image
  • A simple background
  • A file that is not excessively large
  • A supported image format

If you do not upload an image, Wistudi may display your initials or a default avatar.

Choosing Your Role

Wistudi may ask how you plan to use the platform.

Available choices may include:

  • Learner
  • Educator
  • Teacher
  • Trainer
  • Content creator
  • Business user
  • Organisation member

Choose the option that best reflects your current use of Wistudi.

This choice may help personalise your dashboard and suggested next steps, but it does not permanently restrict your account.

You can still learn, create, teach, and manage content using the same account.

Adding Professional or Organisation Information

Your profile may allow you to add information such as:

  • Job title
  • Organisation
  • School
  • Industry
  • Area of expertise
  • Short biography
  • Country or region
  • Preferred language

Only add information that is relevant to how you use Wistudi.

Some information may appear to other users, while other details may remain private.

Review the available privacy settings before saving sensitive information.

Writing Your Biography

A short biography can help learners or collaborators understand who you are.

A useful biography may include:

  • Your role
  • Your subject area
  • Your teaching or training focus
  • Your professional background
  • The type of content you create

Keep it clear and brief.

Example:

Digital learning designer creating interactive training experiences for educators and workplace teams.

Avoid including private contact details unless the platform clearly indicates that the field is private.

Choosing Your Interests

During onboarding, Wistudi may ask you to choose topics or categories that interest you.

These selections can help personalise:

  • Dashboard recommendations
  • Suggested learning content
  • Discover content
  • Topic categories
  • Creator inspiration

You may be able to select up to five categories.

Choose the areas most relevant to what you want to learn or create.

Choosing Categories

Categories help Wistudi understand the subjects and content areas that matter to you.

Examples may include:

  • Education
  • Technology
  • Business
  • Languages
  • Personal development
  • Science
  • Creative skills
  • Workplace training

The exact category list may change as Wistudi develops.

Your category selections can usually be updated later from your profile or account settings.

How Recommendations Are Personalised

When personalised recommendations are available, Wistudi may use your selected categories to influence the content shown to you.

For example:

  • Most recommendations may come from your selected categories.
  • Some recommendations may introduce new topics.
  • Content may rotate to avoid showing the same creators or subjects repeatedly.
  • Your activity may help improve future recommendations.

Personalisation does not prevent you from accessing content outside your chosen categories.

Reviewing Learner Space and Creator Space

Onboarding may introduce the two main areas of Wistudi.

Learner Space

Use Learner Space to:

  • Access learning content
  • Open shared Flows
  • Watch Interactive Videos
  • Continue unfinished learning
  • Review progress and feedback

Creator Space

Use Creator Space to:

  • Create Flows
  • Build Interactive Videos
  • Manage your Workspace
  • Publish and share content
  • Access learner reports and Creator Tools

You can switch between these spaces using the space switcher in the main navigation.

Completing Required Onboarding Steps

Some steps may be required before you can continue.

Required steps may include:

  • Confirming your name
  • Selecting a role
  • Choosing interests
  • Accepting platform terms
  • Completing profile information
  • Reviewing the platform spaces

Required fields are usually marked clearly.

If a step cannot be skipped, complete the requested information before continuing.

Optional Onboarding Steps

Some steps may be optional.

These may include:

  • Uploading a profile image
  • Adding a biography
  • Connecting external services
  • Selecting additional interests
  • Reviewing suggested content

Optional steps can usually be completed later.

Connecting External Accounts

Wistudi may allow users to connect external services such as:

  • YouTube
  • Vimeo
  • Zoom
  • Google services

Some account connections may be marked as Coming Soon during onboarding.

When available, connected accounts may support:

  • Importing videos
  • Creating live events
  • Connecting meeting links
  • Accessing external content
  • Simplifying content creation

Only connect accounts you trust and currently use.

Skipping Onboarding

Some onboarding steps may be skippable, while others may be required.

If you skip an optional step:

  • You can usually complete it later.
  • Recommendations may be less personalised.
  • Your profile may remain incomplete.
  • Some introductory guidance may continue to appear.

Skipping onboarding does not normally remove your account.

However, incomplete required steps may prevent access to some content or platform areas.

Returning to Onboarding Later

You may be able to update onboarding information from:

  • Your profile
  • Account Settings
  • Preferences
  • Category settings
  • Language settings

You do not need to create a new account to change your role, interests, or profile information.

Profile Completion

Wistudi may display a profile completion indicator.

Completing your profile can improve:

  • Account recognition
  • Collaboration
  • Creator credibility
  • Personalised recommendations
  • Organisation reporting
  • Learner identification

A complete profile is particularly useful for creators, instructors, and users participating in live sessions.

Profile Privacy

Not all profile information should automatically be assumed to be public.

Before entering personal information, check whether the field is:

  • Public
  • Visible to learners
  • Visible to creators
  • Visible only to your organisation
  • Private to your account

Avoid adding sensitive information unless it is required and you understand how it will be used.

Changing Your Profile Information

To update your profile:

  1. Open the profile menu.
  2. Select Profile or Edit Profile.
  3. Change the relevant fields.
  4. Review the updated information.
  5. Save your changes.

Changes may appear immediately or after the page refreshes.

Changing Your Profile Image

To replace your profile image:

  1. Open your profile.
  2. Select the existing profile image.
  3. Upload a new image.
  4. Crop or position it when available.
  5. Save the change.

If the old image still appears, refresh the page or sign out and sign back in.

Changing Your Interests or Categories

When category editing is available:

  1. Open your profile or preferences.
  2. Find Interests or Categories.
  3. Remove categories that are no longer relevant.
  4. Select your new categories.
  5. Save your changes.

Updated choices may affect future recommendations.

Changing Your Role

Your selected onboarding role does not prevent you from using other parts of Wistudi.

If role editing is available:

  1. Open your profile.
  2. Find the role or occupation field.
  3. Choose the most suitable option.
  4. Save your changes.

Changing your role may affect recommendations or dashboard guidance, but it should not remove your existing content or progress.

Language Preferences

Wistudi may support different interface or content languages.

When language settings are available, you may be able to choose:

  • Interface language
  • Preferred content language
  • Notification language

Changing the language should not affect your saved progress or created content.

Some content may remain in the language chosen by its creator.

Onboarding Through a Shared Link

You may enter onboarding after opening a shared Flow or Interactive Video link.

The process may work as follows:

  1. Open the shared link.
  2. Create an account or sign in.
  3. Complete the required onboarding steps.
  4. Finish your profile setup.
  5. Return to the shared content.

If you are not returned automatically, open the original shared link again.

Onboarding Through an Organisation

A school, business, or training provider may provide its own onboarding instructions.

The organisation may ask you to:

  • Use a specific email address
  • Enter your official name
  • Select a department or team
  • Join an assigned learning group
  • Follow internal account policies

Follow those instructions when they differ from the standard onboarding process.

Progressive Feature Access

Wistudi may gradually introduce features as you begin using the platform.

For example:

  • Learner tools may be available immediately.
  • Workspace may appear after you begin creating.
  • Creator Tools may appear after publishing.
  • Analytics may appear after content has been shared and used.

Onboarding introduces the platform, but not every feature needs to appear immediately.

This helps keep the experience simpler for new users.

Introductory Tooltips and Guidance

Wistudi may display tooltips or notices to explain newly available features.

These may appear near:

  • The main navigation
  • Workspace
  • Creator Tools
  • Analytics
  • Profile settings
  • Space switcher

Some notices remain visible until closed.

Read the guidance before dismissing it, especially when a new platform area has just unlocked.

Onboarding Rewards

Some onboarding or platform milestones may include credit rewards.

For example, users may receive credits for completing selected actions or unlocking creator features.

When a reward is available, Wistudi should display:

  • The action required
  • The number of credits available
  • Whether the reward has been completed

Reward availability may vary.

Common Onboarding Problems

The onboarding page does not load

Try the following:

  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Check your internet connection.
  3. Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  4. Update your browser.
  5. Open Wistudi in a private browser window.
  6. Disable extensions that may block scripts.
  7. Try again on a desktop or laptop.

I cannot continue to the next step

Check whether:

  • All required fields are complete.
  • You selected the required number of categories.
  • You accepted the required terms.
  • An error message appears.
  • Your profile image is still uploading.
  • Your internet connection is stable.

Scroll through the page to make sure no required field has been missed.

My profile changes are not saving

Try:

  • Checking your connection
  • Selecting Save again
  • Refreshing the page
  • Using another supported browser
  • Reducing the profile image size
  • Completing all required fields

Do not close the page while changes are being saved.

My profile image will not upload

The image may be:

  • Too large
  • An unsupported format
  • Corrupted
  • Blocked by the browser
  • Blocked by the network
  • Prevented by a storage limit

Try a smaller JPG or PNG image.

I was not returned to my shared content

Open the original shared link again after completing onboarding.

Make sure you are signed in with the same account used during registration.

I selected the wrong role

Your role selection does not permanently restrict your account.

Update it from your profile when the option is available, or continue using the space switcher to access the tools you need.
