Credits and Storage Basics

Wistudi uses credits for selected publishing actions and advanced content features. Your account also includes a storage allowance for uploaded files such as videos, images, and documents.

This guide explains the basics so you can plan your content before creating and publishing.

What Are Credits?

Credits are Wistudi’s internal platform units.

They may be used when you:

  • Publish Pages in a Flow
  • Use selected Extended Blocks
  • Use selected Premium Blocks
  • Access certain advanced creation features

Creating an account and accessing learning content does not automatically use credits.

Before a credit-based action is completed, Wistudi should show the required cost or notify you when your balance is insufficient.

Where to View Your Credit Balance

Your current credit balance may appear in:

  • Creator Space
  • Your Dashboard
  • Workspace
  • The Add Block menu
  • The publishing process
  • Account or billing settings

Your available balance may update after publishing content or completing an eligible credit reward.

Block Types

Wistudi may classify content and activity Blocks into different levels.

Basic Blocks

Basic Blocks provide standard content and activity features.

They may have the lowest publishing cost or be included under the basic credit rules.

Extended Blocks

Extended Blocks offer more advanced interactions or functionality.

They may require a higher credit balance.

Premium Blocks

Premium Blocks provide specialised or advanced learning experiences.

They may require more credits than Basic or Extended Blocks.

Some unavailable Blocks may instead display Coming Soon.

Insufficient Credits

When your balance is too low:

  • Some Extended or Premium Blocks may be disabled.
  • A notice may explain how many credits are required.
  • Publishing may remain unavailable until you have enough credits.
  • Existing content should remain in your Workspace.

Wistudi should not remove your draft because your credit balance is too low.

Publishing Costs

Credits may be charged when content is published rather than when it is first added to a draft.

Publishing costs can vary depending on:

  • The number of Pages
  • The types of Blocks used
  • Whether a Page contains Basic, Extended, or Premium content
  • The current platform pricing rules

Review the publishing summary before confirming the action.

Editing Published Content

Minor updates may not always create a new publishing charge.

However, major changes that require a new version or republishing may have additional credit requirements.

The platform should display any cost before the new version is published.

Credit Rewards

Wistudi may award credits for selected actions or milestones.

These may include:

  • Completing onboarding
  • Creating your first learning experience
  • Reaching a creator milestone
  • Participating in a promotion

When a reward is available, Wistudi should show:

  • The action required
  • The credit amount
  • Whether the reward has been completed

Reward availability may change.

Storage Basics

Storage is the file space available in your Wistudi account.

Uploaded media and documents may count toward your storage usage.

This can include:

  • Videos
  • Images
  • PDF documents
  • Learning resources
  • Assignment materials
  • Profile images
  • Other uploaded files

Your Storage Allowance

Wistudi currently plans to provide a 5 GB storage limit per user.

Your storage usage may be shown in your Dashboard, account settings, or Creator Space.

The displayed information may include:

  • Storage used
  • Storage remaining
  • Total storage allowance

What Happens When Storage Is Full?

When you reach your storage limit:

  • New uploads may be blocked.
  • You may be asked to remove unused files.
  • Existing content should remain available.
  • Published content should not be automatically deleted.

Removing content from a Page may not always remove the original uploaded file from storage. Check your media or file-management area when available.

Managing Storage

To reduce storage use:

  • Remove files you no longer need.
  • Avoid uploading the same file several times.
  • Compress large images before uploading.
  • Use appropriately sized video files.
  • Delete unused drafts and media carefully.
  • Review older resources before uploading replacements.

Do not delete a file that is still being used in published content unless you understand how the content will be affected.

Credits and Storage Are Different

Credits and storage control different parts of Wistudi.

CreditsStorage
Used for selected publishing and advanced featuresUsed by uploaded files and media
Balance decreases after eligible actionsUsage increases when files are uploaded
Low credits may block publishing or premium featuresFull storage may block new uploads
Credits may be earned or addedStorage is freed by removing files

Having enough storage does not mean you have enough credits, and having enough credits does not increase your storage allowance.

Before Publishing

Before publishing a Flow or Interactive Video:

  1. Check your available credit balance.
  2. Review the Blocks included in the content.
  3. Confirm the expected publishing cost.
  4. Check that all required content is complete.
  5. Make sure your uploaded files are within your storage limit.
  6. Review the content before confirming publication.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do learners use credits?

Credits are mainly related to creation, advanced features, and publishing. Learners should not normally need credits to complete content shared with them.

Do credits pay for learner seats?

Wistudi is currently focused on charging credits for publishing rather than charging creators separately for learner seats.

Are all Blocks paid?

No. Block requirements depend on whether the Block is Basic, Extended, Premium, or currently unavailable.

When are credits deducted?

Credits are generally expected to be deducted when an eligible publishing or advanced action is confirmed.

What counts toward storage?

Uploaded videos, images, PDFs, documents, and other media may count toward your allowance.

Will full storage delete my content?

No. Full storage should prevent additional uploads rather than automatically deleting existing content.

Can storage limits change?

Storage limits and plan allowances may change as Wistudi develops. The current limit should always be shown within your account.
